Day 256 (17th May) – Hoi An to Hanoi

3 06 2011

After collecting the last of our tailored clothes and posting them home, we boarded an afternoon bus to Hue. Frustratingly had we known about the one way motorbike hire service between Hoi An and Hue, we might have taken up such an opportunity. The road between these two towns is lovely; snaking its way through the countryside and winding up over steep passes, however it had to be said possibly a little busy with ancient trucks crawling up the steep inclines at little more than walking pace.

We made a short stop in Hue to transfer onto a dreaded sleeper bus. Unlike in China this one was full of tourists and not such a shock on the senses.

We made it into Hanoi very early in the morning before the streets became choked by scooters.
