Day One Hundred & Twenty Four (5th Jan) – Deep Sea Fishing

16 02 2011

My first taste of deep sea fishing and how damn hard it is – especially if you skip lunch and drink beer on a constantly moving boat. An amazing day and Christmas present, thanks Alan and Sharon. We were fishing at two depths, 30/40m and 175m. I can tell you now 175m is a long way to wind in a line.

We were unsuccessful at 175m, with Winston catching two 2m conga eels and Jeremy catching a shark. However, at 30/40m we all caught heaps of good sized tasty fish. Lots of which were smoked, fried and bbq’ed that evening for dinner, yum!
