Day One Hundred & Eleven (23rd Dec) – Santiago

Our last day in South America…

We headed to the west end of town, through Barrio Brazil and on to Parque Quinta Normal – one of Santiago’s largest at 40 hectares. Here in this 30oC heat and sunshine it’s possible to stroll, pedal-boat on the small lake, have picnics or have a kick about. Unfortunately none of this was going on as the whole of Santiago was in town shopping!

Anyway, from here we headed over to Concha y Toro a gorgeous little square fed by cobble streets and over looked by art deco beaux art mansions. All set in Barrio Brazil, with its crumbling charming rundown old town houses and sleepy streets.

We felt sad to be leaving South America, however we had Christmas with Sarah, Winston and Lachlan to look forwards to…
