Day Sixty Six (8th Nov) – Tupiza

14 11 2010

Our long bus journey ended in La Quiaca shortly before lunchtime. From here we crossed the border surprisingly easily into Bolivia, and took a 2 hour private transfer to Tupiza.

When anyone we met talked about Bolivia, they failed to mention the dust. The roads we took were dirt and gravel tracks, and in a 10 year old people carrier, it didn’t take long for the dust to get in. We also had a bit of a delay due to a puncture. A kind lorry driver stopped to offer our driver some air for the tyre and he proceded to blow it up until the tyre almost popped and then hurried to Tupiza before the tyre went flat again.
