Day Sixty Four (6th Nov) – Mendoza

14 11 2010

Thanks to some top vineyard recommendations from Roads and Avril, we had a great day cycling and drinking our way around Maipu. Maipu is a small wine growing region just outside Mendoza, that would have you think you were in the Loire Valley or Bordeaux. The combination of picturesque tree lined country roads, grape vines as far as the eye could see, and the large presence of old European cars would have you think you were cycling through rural France about 20 years ago! We hired our bicycles from a guy from Barnsley, who in 5 years in Mendoza had failed to lose that thick Yorkshire accent.

As wine tours go, we were very merry on our bicycles by the end of the day!
