Day Forty Three (16th Oct) – Lima

20 10 2010

Four am is an unholy time for anyone to wakeup, that’s why when our alarm went off at Two Forty Five am I was the least happy person in Sao Paulo. We bid a bleary eyed farewell to Brazil and boarded a plane to Lima, Peru.

Our first meal in Peru was Ceviche (raw fish, shrimp and other seafood marinated in lime juice, onions and chilli peppers served with sweet potato and boiled corn), which was better than almost everything we ate in Brazil. It was also a large meal and that coupled with the very early start meant we only had the energy to see Lima from the top of a sight-seeing bus. What we saw (the tourist centre) was very nice…lots of well preserved historic buildings, statues and fountains.
